Hey there, book lovers!
A new month of book recommendations is here! With Valentine’s Day coming up, I love getting in a romantic mood through books. One of the reasons why I love reading so much is because those big gesture moments always give me butterflies!
Even through fictional characters I love reading their stories coming together, the small acts that make them fall in love and all the cute dates. I’m also a sucker for meet-cutes! So… obviously I had to put together a nice list of February reading recommendations that are ALL romance!
Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse to celebrate the romance and true friendship we have in our lives! (Idk if you celebrate Galentine’s, but I’m hosting this year a small reunion with friends and I’m extremely excited!). If you are looking for Valentine’s Day Wallpapers for your devices… I got you covered! You can check them out here.
Remember that all of these celebrations have in their core love and friendship. It’s not about going to big-box stores and buying cheaply made decorations that will become trash in a couple days. It’s about showing your affection to the people that surrounds you. This can be through a heartfelt letter, a homemade something you know they love or even a craft you made for them. Whatever you decide, remember that materialistic things will fade, break and get lost; but making memories last forever!
Now… back to our February Reading Recommendations! In this post, I’m sharing my February Reading Recommendations + February 2026 Book Releases! Every month I’ll be sharing reading recommendations along with new book releases that deserve a spot on your TBR. Even though I try to add a little bit of everything every month, February called for ROMANCE.
I’m also sharing a new printable for this month:
- The new “Books that I read in February” printable is a super cute reading log that has space to track up to 6 books. Each with designated fields for the title, author, star rating (out of 5 stars) and Notes, quotes & highlights where you can add details like the genre, your favorite character, etc.
You can always use it digitally, but you can also print it and add it to your reading journal. I love checking a physical paper to write down when I finish a book, so hopefully having a printable version will give you some dopamine every time you get closer to your reading goal! Make sure to check out my “February reads” templates that you can post on your social media so you can share your reads with your friends.
You can find my other printables on my Printable page or click here. And hey, I’d love to hear from you. What other reading content would you like me to create? Drop your suggestions in the comments below.
And let me know how you found my blog—I’m always curious about that! Visit my Etsy store for more bookish stuff and make sure to subscribe for email notifications so you never miss a new freebie, and get exclusive access to the Subscribers’ Vault! You can check out more Reading Challenges I’ve shared here.
So grab a warm drink, get comfy, and let’s talk books,
Gabby

You can accompany your reading log by sharing a Monthly Reading Tracker Template on social media. I’ve made one for each month! Make sure to check them out here.

February Reading Recommendations
As I shared before, every month I’m gonna be sharing some of the books I would recommend based on how much I liked them and the rating I gave them. If you wanna know more about my personal rating system or how I pick my monthly reads let me know in the comments below, I’m always happy to share. If you want to know what I’m reading and my personal book reviews feel free to follow me on Fable!
And for these February Reading Recommendations we have:

1. The American Roommate Experiment
by Elena Armas
This is book #2 in the Spanish Love Deception universe! The series that went crazy viral during the OG BookTok era. And I know what you might be thinking… why include the second book in a series? The good news is that this is an interconnected series, so you don’t need to read the first book to fully enjoy this one. While The Spanish Love Deception was a lot of fun, Lucas holds a very special place in my heart. If you love a golden retriever man, trust me, he’s the one for you.

2. Funny Story
by Emily Henry
Unpopular opinion: this is my favorite Emily Henry book. The number of times I laughed out loud while reading it was unreal. It has all the rom-com vibes we love, but delivered in the thoughtful, emotionally rich way that only Emily Henry can pull off. I genuinely can’t wait for this one to be turned into a movie.

3. A Novel Love Story
This was my first 5-star read of 2025, so of course it had to make the list for the month of love and romance. The premise is basically a dream come true: she ends up in the small town from the romance book series she’s been reading. Tell me I’m not the only one who daydreams about meeting their favorite characters and witnessing their love stories firsthand? And speaking of that… it brings me perfectly to my next recommendation.

4. The Love Haters
This is the perfect example of a book I wish existed beyond the page. If you love rom-coms with action, tension, and heart-pounding moments, this one is for you. I laughed out loud during certain scenes, but I was also completely on edge, racing toward the ending.
Trigger warning: the book includes deep internal monologues that touch on body image and body dysmorphia.

5. Better than the Movies
by Lynn Painter
Another OG BookTok favorite. But even three years after reading it, it’s still my all-time favorite YA romance. Wes Bennett remains one of my top book boyfriends (yes, another golden retriever man). You’ll especially love this one if you’re into early 2000s rom-com vibes, big romantic gestures, and a strong music element woven into the story.

6. The Cruel Prince
by Holly Black
And finally… the only “non-romance” book on the list, and while it’s primarily high fantasy, it has a romance subplot with one of the best enemies-to-lovers I’ve read. And I mean real enemies, not the “he looked at me funny so now I hate him” kind, but genuine, deep-rooted hate. This is also the series that got me into fantasy back in 2023, so if I’m recommending it, it’s because I’ve come to appreciate just how good of a book it is over time. Start with the first book in the series and let me know what you think!
If you’ve read any of these February Reading Recommendations, please tell me what you thought! I’d love to know your rating. If you have any recommendations for me, I’m always happy to add them to my TBR.
Heads-up: This post contains affiliate links. I truly believe money is a powerful tool for supporting your values and the communities you care about. In a world where so much of our spending ends up in the pockets of corporations that already have more than enough, I’ve chosen to partner with Bookshop.org, a platform that supports independent bookstores instead.
If you’d like to learn more about their mission and how they work, you can visit their website here.
P.S. Sadly, not all the books I recommend or talk about are available on Bookshop.org, so you may occasionally see links to other platforms like Amazon which are affiliate links too. That said, I always do my best to prioritize independent and non–big corporate businesses whenever possible. If you know a better place to find any of these books, please let me know in the comments, I’d love to support them.

If you are looking to make friends that read too and you live in the Kent/Akron, Ohio area, we meet on the last Thursday of every month! Or join our digital book club on Fable!
