My most anticipated books of 2026

Hi friends, welcome back to my happy corner of the internet as we ease into the new year.

If you follow me on Fable, you probably already know that I’m mostly a romance reader… so it won’t be shocking that many of my most anticipated books of 2026 are romance novels. That said, this year I’m really excited to shake things up a bit. Alongside my usual romantic favorites, I want to explore new genres, discover new favorite authors, and finally read more literary fiction in 2026.

In this post, I’m sharing my top 10 most anticipated books of 2026: the upcoming books I’m looking forward to reading. I’ve also been thinking about sharing a list of the 26 books I’d love to read in 2026, so if that sounds interesting to you, please let me know in the comments and I’ll make it happen.

If you’ve been around the blog for a while, or if you read my last post (I’ll link it here), you know that this year I’ll be sharing monthly reading recommendations along with new monthly book releases, making it easier (and more fun) to plan your reading month by month. Remember that I also have Monthly Reading Trackers that you can download for free!

And because I love a good reading planner moment, I’m also sharing a little freebie today! You’ll find two printable reading lists:

  • A “Most Anticipated books of 2026” printable to write down your own can’t-wait-to-read titles
  • A non-dated “Most Anticipated books of the Year” printable, perfect if you’re reading this post in the future and it’s no longer 2026!

You can always use them digitally, but you can also print it and add it to your reading journal. You can find my other printables on my Printable page or click here. And hey, I’d love to hear from you. What other reading content would you like me to create? Drop your suggestions in the comments below. And don’t forget to share your most anticipated reads of 2026 too!

And let me know how you found my blog!!! I’m always curious about that! Visit my Etsy store for more bookish stuff and make sure to subscribe for email notifications so you never miss a new freebie, and get exclusive access to the Subscribers’ Vault! You can check out more Reading Challenges I’ve shared here.

So grab a warm drink, get comfy, and let’s talk most anticipated reads of 2026,

Gabby.

Most anticipated books of 2026

I can’t believe it’s finally time to talk about 2026 releases… where on earth did 2025 go?! This year, I’m so excited to share my top 10 most anticipated books of 2026. I was lucky enough to get early access to a few of these books through NetGalley as ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies), so you’ll start seeing my early reviews over on Fable.

If you’re not following me there yet, make sure you do! I’ve moved my reading journey over to Fable, and I love sharing updates regularly! It’s honestly the only “social media” I’m actually active on these days.

Without further ado, here are my most anticipated books of 2026:

The night we met by Abby Jimenez

1. The night we met

by Abby Jimenez.

This is the second book in the Say You’ll Remember Me series. I’m not sure we needed a series, but I’ll read anything Abby Jimenez writes. I know many people weren’t huge fans of Say You’ll Remember Me, but I loved it! I read it in November ’25 and gave it 5 stars. Expected release: March 31, 2026.

And now, back to you by BK Borison

2. And Now, Back to You

by B.K Borison.

Another second book in a series! This one focuses on the crew of a Baltimore radio station. The first book, “First Time Caller,” had me giggling and kicking my feet. I read it in August ’25 and gave it 4.5 stars, so I’m definitely looking forward to this next book! Expected release: February 24, 2026. Nothing better than a good romance for Valentine’s Day month.

King of Gluttony by Ana Huang

3. King of Gluttony

by Ana Huang

I have to admit that I fell behind on this series. After King of Greed, I took a little break and haven’t picked up book #4 yet. However, I’m always looking forward to Ana’s next releases. Expected release: April 28, 2026.

Heartstopper Volume Six by Alice Oseman

4. Heartstopper: Volume Six

by Alice Oseman.

This release fills me with both joy and sadness. The author has announced that this will be the final book in the graphic novel series… heartbreaking news because I LOVE Charlie and Nick’s relationship, everything they’ve been through, and how much they’ve grown together. I can’t wait for this last volume. Expected July 2, 2026. This is going to be an amazing summer read!

Adversary to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

5. Adversary to the Villain

by Hannah Nicole Maehrer

Book #4 in the Assistant to the Villain series. Expected release: August 4, 2026. Even though I’m really excited for this release, I’ll be waiting a couple of months to read it during the Halloween/fall season. After reading the first three books in September ’25 and thinking about that world and the characters for weeks afterward, I’m happy to return to them later this year.

The Shippers by Katherine Center

6. The Shippers

by Katherine Center

I’m incredibly grateful to be one of the lucky readers with early access to this book through NetGalley! After reading The Love Haters last year and immediately wanting to hop on a plane to the Keys to meet everyone in real life (sometimes my brain forgets these are just words on a page and not actual people), I can’t wait to dive into this next release. I’m saving it for when the weather warms up a bit, and you’ll definitely see it added to my “currently reading” list on Fable. Expected release: May 19, 2026.

Fever Dream by Elsie Silver

7. Fever Dream

by Elsie Silver

I’m so excited for Elsie’s new series! Emerald Lake sounds like the perfect small-town romance, and I already have the Chestnut Spring series on my 2026 TBR. With all the hype I’ve heard, there’s no way I’m missing this one! Expected release: May 19, 2026.

Just friends by Haley Pham

8. Just Friends

by Haley Pham

As a loyal YouTube watcher since 2012, I have to say book content is probably what I watch the most besides sustainable living, cozy vlogs, and Bible study inspiration. That said, I’m so excited for Haley’s debut novel, especially after following her journey through her vlogs. Expected release: March 3, 2026.

The Lion and the Deathless Dark by Carissa Broadbent

9. The Lion and the Deathless Dark

by Carissa Broadbent

Book #5 of the Crowns of Nyaxia series is almost here! This one is the first book in the Bloodborn Duet within the series. I devoured the first two in under 48 hours so that should say enough. I’m beyond excited that this release is landing in my birthday month… the perfect excuse to treat myself! Expected release: August 4, 2026.

Half his age by Jennette McCurdy

10. Half His Age

by Jennette McCurdy

I just read the summary of this book, and I’m really intrigued by the story! After the amazing success of Jennette’s memoir, I can’t wait to see how she writes fiction. Expected release: January 20, 2026.

Dolly all the time by Annabel Monaghan

Bonus: 11. Dolly All The Time

by Annabel Monaghan

I’m so grateful to have received the ARC of this book! Summer Romance was a 5-star read for me, and I’m planning to dive into Nora Goes Off Script this spring. Expected release: May 26, 2026. Two Annabel Monaghan books in one year? Sounds like the perfect plan to me!

Heads-up: This post contains affiliate links. I truly believe money is a powerful tool for supporting your values and the communities you care about. In a world where so much of our spending ends up in the pockets of corporations that already have more than enough, I’ve chosen to partner with Bookshop.org, a platform that supports independent bookstores instead.

If you’d like to learn more about their mission and how they work, you can visit their website here.

P.S. Sadly, not all the books I recommend or talk about are available on Bookshop.org, so you may occasionally see links to other platforms. That said, I always do my best to prioritize independent and non–big corporate businesses whenever possible. If you know a better place to find any of these books, please let me know in the comments, I’d love to support them.

My Bookshelf Printable

If you are like me and are looking for a little extra to keep track of your reads, I made this “my bookshelf” printable for you! I love having a clean slate every year to write down what books are either on my physical TBR or the books that I am reading. Personally, I love coloring every book based on either the month I read it on, or the genre. That way at the end of the year I have a more clear visual of my reading journey.

How to use it:

  1. Purchase your printable from my Etsy shop.
  2. Print it or use it digitally. Note: All printables are US Letter-size files.
  3. Write down the books that you’ve read as you go, or put write down your TBR and color the books as you tackle it. There are 2 different sizes (40 & 70 books) so you can have enough space accordingly to what you need.
  4. Feel free to print as many as you want! You can even share it with your book club friends and make it a group activity!
